Individualized in-home care

KBS provides in-home programs for children between the ages of 2 and 21. Programs are individualized to each child, and therefore, can vary significantly. We provide Registered Behavior Technicians to each family that we serve.

We use ABA’s scientific approach to assess and analyze an individual’s behaviors and abilities and use that information to identify effective strategies to teach the individual new skills and improve behaviors. Using ABA can teach individuals new skills that can improve communication, social skills, independence, and other important behaviors.

FAQ’s

  • KBS uses a variety of techniques based on ABA. These include Discrete Trial Training, Natural Environment Teaching, Relational Frame Theory, and other areas of ABA. Most of the clients we serve receive an assessment through PEAK, ABLLS-R, or the VB-MAPP, and then the specifics of their program will be chosen based on the results of those assessments and consultation with the family and individual.

  • Yes! Common grants include the United Healthcare Children’s Foundation Grant and the Autism Society grants.

  • Typically, KBS will run your insurance benefits, and then if approved, submit for prior authorization for services. Most insurance plans require pre-approval for the assessment and ongoing services. KBS will work with you to determine your families out of pocket costs and a timeline for services to be approved by your insurance.

  • Unfortunately, according to the Ohio Autism Insurance Coalition, about half of the population in the state of Ohio has coverage through their insurance or early intervention programs. If your family does not have an ABA benefit, your child should have access to the Ohio Autism Scholarship to receive in-home ABA if your child qualifies for their IEP under the Autism category.
